What
a wonderful farewell function we had on Friday, June 22, 2007, at St. James The Less for the Jones'.
If
you were not there you were missed. We wish the Jones' a long, happy and
healthy retirement. The Villagers and FSVGS, Inc. pulled off a very successful
evening. It was so good to see everyone. A great time was had by all.
Here
is another opportunity to say fare thee well to the Jones'.
I
am forwarding some information from Sharon Jones Coombs.
Please
get in touch with her at solidsha@optonline.net
if you need tickets for this function on Friday,
July 28, 2007.
Dear
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
For
the past 12 1/2 years our church has been blessed with the guidance and
spiritual leadership of a good and faithful servant of the Lord, our devoted
Rector, Father E. Ulric
C-Jones. But the Book of Ecclesiastes
tells us that "to everything there is a season and a time for every
purpose under heaven;" so the time has come for him to pass the torch.
Father
Jones' last celebrated Mass with us will be held on June 30th 2007; then he
will officially resign as Rector of our church on July 31st, 2007.
In
the view of this, we are honored to pay tribute to him and his dear wife
Marilyn by celebrating in the form of a dinner dance at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel,
We
are therefore extending an invitation to you and your congregation, hoping that
you will join us as we celebrate this very memorable and remarkable occasion.
........ The cost is $55.00 each.
It
will be our greatest pleasure to have you join us.
Thank
you for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Rafael

Congratulations
are in order to the "Austin Family", Thomas and Genie Gurley Austin.
On Monday 18th, their daughter Tracy was called to the Ontario Bar. On that day
and early in the morning, a number of Villagers: Henry, Barbara, big sister Karen, and from
Edmonton, Auntie Alie and uncle Ken, were privileged
to witness Tracy's call to the Ontario Bar at a very lovely ceremony at Roy
Thompson Hall in downtown Toronto.
McGill graduate Tracy is the younger daughter of proud parents and
fellow Villagers - the Austins, Tom and Geanie (Gurley), and emotional caregiver grandma Hulda - The Treasurer of the Law Society of Upper Canada
encouraged all to hoot and holler for their favorite candidate, so we did just
that!!! Our heartiest congratulations go out to Tracy and her parents Geanie & Tom
