August 1 was Emancipation day and therefore it is appropriate to send you a picture of the house where King Jaja lived. Henry Williams did much research on King Jaja in the form of a booklet. Below is some information from the booklet

JAJA - King of the West African town of Opobo ruled from 1870 - 1887.
He was exiled to St. Vincent in 1888. On arrival in St. Vincent he was sent to the cottage at Fort Charlotte where he lived briefly but found the air there
too cold and so was moved to Frenches. He died in 1891 on his way back to Africa.
