On behalf of my sister-in-law Gitta, and the entire Lewis family, I extend a big THANK YOU to all who contributed to the Francis Lewis’ Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Our dearly beloved Francis Kelvin Lewis received his primary education at Belair Government and Calliaqua Anglican schools. Funds collected at Francis’ memorial service in Toronto on Saturday November 27th 2004, plus others from the Liverpools, Gitta and additional family members, totaled $1012.00 Can.

This money was used to offer two scholarships for students who entered Secondary school in SVG last fall.  On Sunday 16th October 2005, the awardees were announced at services in St. Johns and St. Pauls Anglican churches.  The recipients are:

·        From Belair:  Courtney Cumberbath, who formerly attended the Belair Government  School. He is now attending the Emmanuel High School, Kingstown. Courtney is the son of Janice Cumberbatch and Elvette King,

·        From Calliaqua: Trishauna Ross, who formerly attended the Calliaqua Anglican school. She is now attending the Bishop's College Kingstown. Trishauna is the daughter of Ann Ross and Kendall DeRoche

Special thanks to the Rev: Dr Sylvanus Regisford, Mrs Angie Martin, mother Gwendolyn Jack and all others who worked so ardently and without partiality on the scholarship selection committee.

I urge readers to join me in praying that Courtney and Trishauna will grow up in a way that truly pleases God and that they will contribute positively to the spiritual and economic growth of our blessed St Vincent and the Grenadines.
